Thomas Molesworth

Thomas C. Molesworth (1890-1977) was a notable American furniture designer and interior decorator known for his distinctive Western-style furniture. He was born in Kansas and became prominent during the early to mid-20th century. Molesworth's work is associated with the "Western Ranch Style" or "Cowboy Style," which was a unique blend of rustic, Native American, and Western influences. Molesworth started his career as a ranch hand but eventually turned his passion for craftsmanship and design into a successful business. He established the Shoshone Furniture Company in Cody, Wyoming, which became famous for its handcrafted furniture pieces. His designs often featured elements like leather upholstery, wood with natural finishes, and motifs inspired by the American West, such as cowhide, antlers, and Western-themed carvings. The distinct aesthetic of Thomas Molesworth's designs made him a sought-after interior decorator for ranches, lodges, and homes in the Western United States. His work remains highly collectible and iconic in the world of Western-themed interior design.
